Zenvo ST1 Supercars 2010

Zenvo Automotive, a Danish company, has built a new supercar, that at least in official performance figures, is a serious competitor for the Veyron. Called the Zenvo ST1, the new, 100 per cent Danish supercar, is powered by a 7.o liter V8 engine that outputs 1104 hp at 6900 rpm and an unbelievable 1430 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. The Zenvo ST1 has an electronically limited top speed of 375 km/h and is able to get from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds. It’s power to weight ratio is 802 hp / tonne. The company did not disclose the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions level of the Zenvo ST1, but with this kind of performance, who cares?
Zenvo Automotive was founded with one goal in mind. To produce a unique hand built supercar. The developing of the prototype started in 2004. The prototype is completed and the car is in the last testing phase. In 2009 Zenvo Automotive will start the series production of the car, Zenvo ST1. It will be a very limited edition and only 15 cars will be built and sold to special approved customers.
The idea behind the car was to hand build a high performance super car which will meet today´s standards but still keep the original and unique feeling of driving a supercar. The car will have excessive power due to both supercharger and turbo, but will still be drivable for everyday use.

Zenvo Cars

The first supercar coming from Zenvo Automotive is called Zenvo ST1. S stands for Supercharger, T for Turbo and 1 for model number one. For the engineers and designers within Zenvo Automotive, a clear list of criteria was made to ensure the car would not only be a track worthy supercar but a car that would be suitable for everyday use. The ST1 even though so powerful, is very drivable. It retains the unique feeling of driving a hand built supercar while still delivering the needs of modern motoring and safety. The car is 100% built in Denmark. From its impressive list of mechanical specifications to its striking pose the Zenvo ST1 is the result of clever Danish design. All these features are blended together to form a vehicle that demands attention but remains purposeful and practical. The frame is steel space frame and the body is in carbon.

Volkswagen Polo sedan to be re-badged (IN)

VW will be reviving the Vento nameplate as using it on their forthcoming Polo sedan in India.

VW engineers will be extending the Polo's wheelbase by 50mm over the hatchback variant in order to provide more head and legroom for rear seat passengers and make the Vento one of the more competitive compact sedans in the segment.

The Indian market Vento will come with a 1.6 litre petrol engine with 105bhp. A 1.6 litre diesel will also be available, that too with 105bhp. Both will be fitted with a 5 speed manual transmission, while a DSG gearbox might make it into the top-end diesel at a later date. The Indian market Vento will not come with VW's TSI technology - likely due to costs.

Vento, simply means 'wind' in both Italian and Portuguese. VW's goal is to sell around 25,000 units annually of the Vento in India.

The Vento goes on sale during July in India. European and South African sales start thereafter where the Vento will be known as the 'Polo Classic', however, North American sales are still under consideration.

Mitsubishi to share ASX/RVR with PSA

Mitsubishi has reached an agreement to share the ASX/RVR with Peugeot-Citroën.

While details are limited, the Peugeot and Citroën models will be launched in early 2012 in Europe. They will feature unique styling and available in both front an all-wheel drive. The deal has benefits for both companies: PSA gets an already-developed vehicle for a growing market segment, while Mitsubishi benefits from economies of scale resulting from the 100,000 extra cars it expects to make for Citroen and Peugeot each year.

Power will be provided by PSA’s 1.6 HDi diesel engine with 110bhp and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. With front-wheel drive, the engine is expected to return 60.1mpg/4.7l km combined while emitting 123g/km.

Mitsubishi's ASX in FWD with the firms all-new 1.8 DiD engine will account for majority of UK sales when it goes on sale 1st July. In the mean while, if you want to win an all-new ASX 1.6 FWD, click here to play the game or click here to visit the official Facebook page.

AC Schnitzer BMW Cars

The BMW dealer in Abu Dhabi is offering AC Schnitzer body kits for the BMW X5 and the BMW X6, calling it The Falcon. Incidentally, BMW’s GCC office recently reported that the 7-Series is their top-selling model in this region, followed by the BMW X6 and then the BMW X5. Considering the abundance of BMW’s soft-roading clientele, they should have no problem selling these kits.
The Falcon kit consists of multipiece AC Schnitzer 22-inch alloy wheels, new bumpers, side skirts, fender flares, bonnet vents and a rear spoiler, though contents vary depending on model. The body parts are made of high-quality plastics. There are no performance mods.
