Renault Scenic spied on photoshoot

We've seen the next Renault Scenic undisguised in a French car magazine, now an eagle-eyed reader has caught the Scenic on a photoshoot.

The photoshoot was taking place in Valencia, Spain and on set, alongside the new Scenic was the facelifted Clio. Those on set of the photoshoot where not happy about a member of public sticking their noses in, especially security.

Like the current model, the Scenic will arrive in 2 wheelbases which will be longer than the outgoing models. The SWB model will be 19cm longer than the outgoing model and thus measuring at 4278 mm/4.2 metres - giving a more spacious interior. Storage solutions and practicality will also be improved. Even the cabin materials will be changed to give the Scenic a premium feel. Engineers are also working hard, trying to iron out any electrical faults.

Underpinning the Scenic is the Nissan Qashqai which also shares the same platform as the Renault Megane and Kangoo. Reports suggest that the long-wheelbased Scenic will be offered in a 4WD variant, similar to the forthcoming Peugeot 3008. This closest thing we got to a Scenic RX4 was the Scenic Conquest - a jacked up regular version of the MPV with plastic parts on the front & rear bumpers and increased ride-height. Engines are very likely to be pinched from the recent Megane line-up.

European sales kick off this Summer with prices increasing over the outgoing model.

Thanks Andreas R for the tip!
